Post-Launch content includes a season pass and the return of Sandbox Mode.
Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few will be receiving post-launch content in the form of a season pass that will include three stories set in Wellington Wells and the return of the Sandbox Mode.
Copulsion Games announced the details on a blog post, beginning with more details about the upcoming Sandbox Mode which was featured in the “early days of We Happy Few.”
This “infinite mode” will be added as a free update and will give the player tools to customize the world as they see fit. Some of the options include making the world smaller or larger, more dangerous, containing less food, and adding more Wellies.
For those unfamiliar, Wellies are the residents of We Happy Few’s Wellington Wells that are under the influence of the drug known as Joy. The Sandbox Mode will even allow you to play as one of these Wellies.
As for the season pass, which will be available in the We Happy Few Deluxe Edition or separately, it includes three different stories;
Roger and James in: They Came From Below! – Precocious Roger and Impetuous James set off in search of adventure and love, only to uncover bizarre technology and a terrifying new threat. All is not as it seems. Or is it exactly as it seems?
Lightbearer – Heartthrob, artist, and personal trainwreck, Nick Lightbearer is Wellington Wells’ most celebrated rock star—but what truly makes him tick? Tune in to Uncle Jack’s late show to find out.
We All Fall Down – Much like any well-worn happy mask, all societies develop cracks in their veneer. But that doesn’t mean you should go digging up dirt from the past. Right? *pops a Joy pill* Right!
No further release information was given, so the release dates of the post-launch content is not currently known.
We Happy Few will be released on August 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC after spending over two years in early access.
At E3 2018, Microsoft announced that they acquired Compulsion Games, among other studios, and the developers behind this upcoming title believe they can make “The Leap” and make this game truly special.
