Super Meat Boy 2 Could Still Happen

Nearly five years after Super Meat Boy creator Team Meat said “there won’t ever be a Super Meat Boy 2,” the notoriously challenging platformer could see a sequel after all.

Speaking to Game Informer, Team Meat’s Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes actually found inspiration to make a proper Super Meat Boy sequel while working on their upcoming mobile autorunner Super Meat Boy Forever.

“There were aspects of Forever that were moves that Meat Boy did… that we were prototyping that felt like they could be better used in a sequel,” said McMillen. “The future of Meat Boy is definitely up in the air, but a sequel is something that I wouldn’t be opposed to doing even though we both said that we wouldn’t do it.”
