Fortnite Season 5 Map Changes, Hi-Res Map, List of New Locations by IGN

The mire isn’t very moisty anymore.

Fortnite Season 5 just dropped, and a handful of huge changes to the map came with it. The Battle Royale map includes a desert biome for the first time, Dusty Divot is now overgrown, and Anarchy Acres has been transformed into the lux Lazy Links.

Some of the new areas are obvious by the map gif above, but there are even more to find. Visit our incredibly hi-res, interactive Season 5 Fortnite Battle Royale Map to scour it yourself for anything new and to find spawn points of treasure chests. Check out the biggest changes below, but definitely watch the video for direct comparisons of each area.

1. Anarchy Acres is now Lazy Links

LazyLinks

The once expansive farmlands in the north have been bulldozed to make space for an expensive golf resort dubbed Lazy Links.

2. Moisty Mire is now Paradise Palms

The once Moisty Mire has dried up entirely, creating a huge desert biome covering good chunk of the map in the southeast.

3. Dusty Divot is Overgrown With Trees

Dusty Depot turned into Dusty Divot in Season 4, and though it retains its name, its environment has changed a lot. Compare this forested hole to the desolate crater from the beginning of Season 4. Over the course of the last few weeks, these trees have slowly grown in.

4. A Viking Ship Appeared

The uninteresting mountain between Greasy Grove and Snobby shores is now home to a huge waterfall and small viking village, complete with a ship.

There are even more details  about these four locations, plus a plethora of smaller changes throughout Fortnite’s Season 5 map. See every new map change in Fortnite Season 5 here, which includes unexplained moai statues, a missing fox, and more.

Read all of the Fortnite Season 5 Patch Notes to see what has changed besides the map, and keep up with Season 5 Weekly Challenges to make the most of your Battle Pass. The first weekly challenge is already live, and we have the locations of every floating lightning bolt.
