Jay Wilson, the game director of Blizzard’s Diablo III, has announced he’s leaving the company — and the gaming industry entirely.
“I’m leaving to pursue my original passion, writing,” Wilson wrote on Twitter, announcing this as his final week at Blizzard. “It’s what I was doing when I fell into this job, and I’ve always wanted to return to it.”
Wilson has spent the last decade with Blizzard, originally joining the company in 2006. Prior to working at Blizzard, Wilson also served as a design director for Relic Entertainment’s Company of Heroes and as lead designer on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, among other titles.
