Last week at Gamescom, 2K unveiled a slick Mafia III reveal trailer to formally announce the upcoming game. Set in 1968 and starring protagonist Lincoln Clay, the game takes place in a fictionalized version of New Orleans.
Clay, a recently returned Vietnam vet and orphan, returns to the city to seek out a feeling of familial bond. He finds it in the Big Easy's "Black mob," but his newly-found family is soon wiped out by the Italian mafia. After recovering from the attack, Clay vows revenge.
The driving force behind the game and how it's played is the search for vengeance and power. As you can see from the screen shots, gun violence and American steel automobiles factor heavily into the New Orleans of Mafia III.
